Boninfante Introduces Custom Clutch Division – New Lamborghini Clutch Joins Mustang/Challenger Line
YEADON, Pa. – “Nitro Nick” Boninfante, of Boninfante Performance Racing Clutches, the industry leader in clutches for pro nitro drag racing teams and many other forms of motorsports, announced that the company has entered the specialty/custom clutch market and their first new product is a clutch assembly for the Lamborghini Mirua.
The Lambo Mirua was only built from 1967 until 1973 with three different models, the Mirua P400, the P400 S and the P400 SV and replacement parts for these models are very hard to get, especially the clutch assembly.
“I had a friend of mine who owns one of these cars who came to me and asked for our help with the clutch,” Boninfante said. “After I looked at it I knew that with all the technology we have today that we could recondition the pressure plate and flywheel and build a new clutch disc that would be better than the factory unit and would be a vastly superior to what’s currently available for these cars.”
“We built a prototype and it worked perfectly,” Boninfante continued. “My friend was so pleased with it he started telling all of his Lambo car-club friends about it and all of a sudden I’m building clutches for Lamborghinis. It got me to thinking, we’ve got everything it takes to build a custom clutch for any make or model of car so why not expand the business and produce a custom product for car guys out there who need a special or hard to get clutch for whatever car they have.”
Boninfante Custom Clutches also builds street/strip clutches for the late model Ford Mustangs and Dodge Challengers. Built to the same quality as their line of racing clutches the 10” Long style pressure plate is low profile and will fit in a stock bellhousing and will outlast the stock clutches.
